1. PADI Open Water Referral Course
PADI Open Water Referral Course allows students to complete the academic and confined-water portions of their certification at home with their instructor or dive center, then travel abroad for four open water dives to become certified. This can help save time by completing one of the most time-consuming parts of the diving course closer to home, then taking advantage of diving conditions at their vacation spot for the best dive conditions and the rest.
One major drawback of this type of course is that when students arrive at their chosen destination to conduct further open-water dives, some of the theories and skills learned during confined water training could already have been forgotten. Furthermore, working with different instructors at their destination dive shop may result in different teaching styles or different sets of diving equipment being used during open water dives.
To combat this issue, when arriving at their chosen diving location new scuba divers should meet with their dive professional and spend a couple of hours reviewing and refreshing in-water knowledge with them – this allows instructors to more efficiently identify any areas which need further review before diving. They should expect an on-water quizzing session that allows instructors to assess where further study needs to take place before diving begins.
Make sure that when arriving at your destination, you have all of the diving gear necessary. That way you can quickly begin practicing practical aspects such as buoyancy and clearing your mask of water. If not all equipment is available to you yet, many dive shops provide rental sets with checklists of what is needed.
Are you looking to combine diving instruction and an exciting vacation experience? Join Ambergris Divers for our PADI Open Water Referral Course and let us make it easy and exciting. This course combines academic coursework and pool training, with two half-days of morning 2-tank dives on the Belize Barrier Reef – making this course perfect for families wanting to become certified while still taking full advantage of their trip’s beach and jungle surroundings!
2. PADI Open Water Course
The PADI Open Water Course is your gateway to becoming a certified diver and diving anywhere around the world. Over four days, this course will teach you basic diving techniques in confined water pools as well as opening water dives – the highlight being breathing underwater for the first time, an unforgettable feeling you won’t soon forget!
PADI certification courses provide an ideal option for travelers and backpackers wishing to acquire their diving license while abroad. Although other certification options exist such as SSI or the British Subaqua Club (BSAC), PADI stands out due to their global standards in diving instruction – and we highly recommend them!
Once you’ve completed your PADI Open Water course, the Advanced Open Water course should be taken. This will enable you to dive deeper and discover different aspects of our vast ocean. Furthermore, this will help develop more independent diving habits, allowing dives with friends without needing an instructor as part of their dive plan.
The PADI Advanced Open Water Course will teach you new diving skills, such as Peak Performance Buoyancy – where you will learn how to control and master your buoyancy – navigation (where you will practice using both compass and instinct for underwater travel) as well as night diving (an extremely enjoyable and exciting dive which offers opportunities to spot marine creatures active at night) and finally diving at night (where marine animals may come out out playing!).
Once you’ve completed an Advanced Open Water course, you will be certified to dive independently with a partner at any dive site worldwide. This marks an incredible step for travelers or backpackers looking to dive independently at some of the world’s most spectacular dive sites – something only Certified Divers can do. Furthermore, becoming certified will enable you to participate in citizen science initiatives like Dive Against Debris or coral surveys that contribute towards protecting our planet!
3. PADI Advanced Open Water Course
If you want to dive deeper than 60 feet or discover more about the underwater world, this course may be right for you. The PADI Advanced Open Water Course offers a great way to become more confident in your diving abilities while learning something new and having fun! Specifically tailored to increase knowledge about diving deeper environments or night diving conditions; explore wreck diving or night dives; also experience advanced dives not usually offered at every dive location such as deep or navigation diving!
This course includes five Adventure Dives; two are mandatory (Underwater Navigation and Deep dives), with the other three selected according to personal interest (Night Diving, Search & Recovery or Photography dives). All five will provide opportunities for growth while teaching new skills – navigation or buoyancy development being some examples – whilst each dive can contribute towards fulfilling one of PADI Specialty Diver courses should you decide later! Additionally, any Adventure Dive taken can count towards your PADI Specialty Diver course completion!
Once you complete the Advanced Open Water Course, you will become a fully certified scuba diver! This means that you are eligible to dive with a partner or teach other people to dive. In addition, more challenging courses like Rescue Divemaster courses as well as exploring some of Belize’s stunning marine life await!
Certified Open Water Divers can dive to depths between 18 metres (60-100 feet). This gives them access to a range of diving activities, including wrecks, caves, reefs and night dives. PADI also offers insurance that will cover you should anything go wrong with your equipment or an injury arise while diving; to qualify you’ll require having your doctor sign a medical certificate as proof, while before booking in-water classes always check with their local PADI Dive Shop first.
4. Rescue Diver Course
PADI Rescue Diver certification is one of the most valuable certifications that scuba divers can obtain, as its skills could save lives. Plus, taking this course can also make you a more confident and self-aware diver. Furthermore, learning these essential lifesaving techniques will equip you to deal with dive accidents or emergencies as soon as they arise.
The Rescue Diver course is an intensive training program that encompasses knowledge development sessions, confined water exercises, and open water dives. You’ll begin by learning to identify and respond to diver stress signals both above water and below. Next you’ll practice emergency recompression and oxygen administration procedures as well as search and recovery techniques before finally learning how to assist a diver in distress, including helping panicked divers or even saving unconscious divers from drowning.
Tentative divers may be put off by tales of tears and “hell dives,” so it’s crucial that they find a training facility that emphasizes a calm, safe approach to their course. A PADI Rescue Instructor will help ease nerves while teaching essential lifesaving skills.
After successfully completing a PADI Rescue Diver course, you’ll gain the skills and confidence needed to handle any situation that might arise during diving. It is an impressive achievement and should make you proud. Rescue Divers also qualify to enter into PADI Divemaster program as an introduction into becoming professional divers.
Ramon’s Village Divers is a PADI 5* IDC Centre and can provide the perfect training facility to ensure safety, fun and an interactive hands-on approach for you when taking part in their Rescue Diver course. We feature an air-conditioned classroom equipped with all the equipment you’ll need as well as an eLearning option so you can complete five knowledge development sections at your own convenience – give us a call now for more details!
